Board of Trustees Meeting
Arcola Public Library District
Those present - Jeff Saunders, Mark Eadie, Alden Nay, Emily Coombe, Carey Wood, Allison Cox, Tina Vandeveer (Bookkeeper), Arcola City Administrator, Bill Wagoner, Scott Hensley
Absent - Debbie Sosamon, Laura Robey (Director)
President Saunders called the regular monthly meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Public Comments
- None
- Minutes from the the July monthly meeting were presented and reviewed. Coombe motioned to accept the minutes and seconded by Cox. The motion carried.
New Business Item
- In order to accommodate the TIF presentation by Wagoner, this item was moved up in interest of time.
Wagoner presented detailed information about the city’s plans for a new TIF District that would provide for Owner Occupied Affordable Housing. He urged the library, as a taxing body, to attend the Review Board meeting (August 18 @ 1:00 pm)
Financial Report
- Financial report from the month of July was presented and reviewed. Motion was made by Eadie to accept the report and to pay bills. Motion was seconded by Nay. Motion passed with all those present voting yea, no nays.
President’s Comments
- None
Committee Reports
- Eadie reported updates of current projects and also recommend that we contract lawn plus landscape maintenance in the future. Hope Electric has agreed to be our “Go To” local electric needs provider.
Librarian’s Report
- Report received and reviewed. (attached)
Old Business
- None
New Business
- Robey (via email) presented the application of Robin Rauch for the position of Clerk. Nay made the motion to “hire” her. Eadie seconded and the motion carried.
- The item of basement murals was tabled for further discussion.
- Eadie motioned that Ordinance 26-2, Annual Budget and Appropriations FY 2026-2027, be approved and that a Public Hearing be set for 5:45 pm, September 14. Nay seconded the motion and it carried.
- Coombe made the motion that we submit Ordinance 26-3, Tax Levy FY 2026-2027. Cox seconded and the motion carried.
- Motion to adjourn at 7:52 p.m. by Eadie, second from cox, motion carried.
